I. Pothole cleaning
1. Clean the gravel and waste residue in and around the pothole to be repaired. No mud, stones or other debris should be left in the pothole.
2. The pothole to be repaired should have neat cut edges, and the waste residue should be removed until a solid and firm surface is seen.
Note: If conditions permit, it is best to apply a layer of emulsified asphalt on the pothole.

II. Fill the pothole
1. Fill enough asphalt cold patch material into the pothole.
2. Until the filler is about 1.5cm higher than the road surface, the center of the pothole should be slightly higher than the surrounding road surface and in an arc shape after filling.
3. If the depth of the pothole on the road surface is greater than 5cm, it should be filled in layers and compacted layer by layer, with each layer of 3-5cm.
III. Compacting
1. After paving evenly, select appropriate compacting tools and methods for compaction according to the actual environment, the size and depth of the repair area.
2. Such as manual compaction with shovel back, manual tamping, vibrating plate compaction, and roller compaction. When repairing high-grade highways, the surrounding areas and corners of the repair area should be fully compacted.
Note: If conditions permit, it is best to seal the edges of the repair area with caulking glue.
IV. Cleaning
After compaction, a layer of stone powder or fine sand can be evenly sprinkled on the surface, and the cleaning tool can be used to clean back and forth so that the fine sand can fill the surface gaps.
V. Acceptance
1. The surface of the repaired pit should be smooth, flat, and free of wheel marks. The corners around the pit must be compacted without looseness.
2. The compaction degree of ordinary road repairs must reach more than 93%, and the compaction degree of highway repairs must reach more than 95%.
