What are the characteristics of bitumen tanks:

(1)Lightweight and high strength
The density is between 1.5~2.0, only 1/4~1/5 of carbon steel, but the tensile strength is close to or even exceeds alloy steel, and the specific strength can be compared with high-grade carbon steel.

(2) Good corrosion resistance
Bitumen tanks are excellent corrosion-resistant materials and are relatively resistant to air, water and general concentrations of acids, alkalis, salts, as well as a variety of raw oils and solvents. It has been used in various fields of anti-corrosion in chemical plants and has replaced carbon steel, stainless steel plates, wood, rare metals, etc.
(3) Good electrical performance
It is an insulating layer material used in the production of conductors and insulators. Excellent dielectric charge can still be maintained at high frequencies. Microwave heating has excellent passability and has been widely used in radar detection and communication antennas.

(4)Excellent thermal characteristics
The thermal conductivity of asphalt tanks is low, 1.25~1.67kJ/(m·h·K) at indoor temperature, which is only 1/100~1/1000 of metal materials. It is a thermal insulation material. Under the condition of instantaneous high temperature and high pressure, it is an ideal thermal protection and burn-resistant material, which can protect the spacecraft from being washed by high-speed cyclones at temperatures above 2000°C.
