Colored anti-skid pavement achieves its anti-skid effect through the following three aspects:
(1) The surface structure depth of ordinary pavement is greatly increased by paving colored anti-skid pavement, which increases the anti-skid performance of the pavement. Experiments show that the structure depth of ordinary asphalt pavement is 0.65mm, and the BPN value is 70 in a wet state. The structure depth of the newly paved colored anti-skid pavement increases to 0.82mm, and the BPN value also increases to 85. It can be seen that the colored anti-skid pavement greatly improves the anti-skid resistance of the pavement.

(2) By coating the colored pavement anti-skid system, a 3-5mm raised surface layer is formed on the original pavement, which causes a light vibration when the vehicle passes by, reminding the driver to slow down.
(3) By forming a strong color contrast with the ordinary pavement, it gives the driver a visual impact, improves the driver's attention, and takes effective measures to slow down. Hot-melt colored pavement anti-skid material is mainly based on hot-melt pavement marking paint, with necessary formula adjustments and the addition of anti-skid aggregate. During construction, it is necessary to heat and melt it first, and then use a special scraper to apply it on the road surface. After natural cooling and hardening, a colored road surface is formed. Hot-melt colored anti-skid road surface products are relatively troublesome to construct, with average anti-skid effect and unreliable quality, and have been basically eliminated. The types of cold-coated colored anti-skid road surface materials include acrylic, epoxy, and urethane, which are liquid. During construction, no large equipment is required. It is only necessary to mix the base material and the curing agent in proportion, apply it to the road surface by roller coating, and add anti-skid aggregate. After chemical cross-linking reaction, it quickly solidifies into a tough paint film to form a colored anti-skid road surface. The construction is simple, fast and easy, and it has become the main choice in the market.
